Princeton University Engagement Shoot: Katie and Alex
Katie and Alex both went to Princeton as undergraduates, and though they now live far from New Jersey — Katie’s in California, and Alex is in Philadelphia — they wanted to have Princeton University engagement pictures because it’s where they first met (not to mention, it’s incredibly photogenic!).
However, because they live so far away and are busy with graduate school, they only had one date available for their engagement session in late fall. It’s impossible to predict when the foliage will be at its height, and when the trees will already have begun shedding their leaves and looking a bit barren. We weren’t sure how the trees would perform, but Katie and Alex crossed their fingers. In the end, they were blessed with a crisp autumn afternoon amidst a dazzling backdrop of red, gold, pink, and flame colored leaves.
Katie described to us how they got engaged:
Alex proposed this spring, at my family’s lakehouse on Lake Travis, Texas. I’m from Houston, and my family always spent summers and weekends at the lake, relaxing and waterskiing and just enjoying time together as a family. Alex knows that it’s my favorite place in the world (not to mention that it’s beautiful!) so he coordinated with my parents and planned to propose over Easter weekend, when they were all together there. He told me that he wanted to “take a walk outside” and then got down on one knee as the sun was setting over the water behind them. It was perfect!
You can see Katie and Alex’s romantic spirit shining right through the pictures. They’ll be getting married this summer in Texas — congratulations, you two!
