Wedding Photography Package and Pricing Info

What’s In My Wedding Photography Package?

Planning a wedding almost feels like a full-time job. There are so many different people and companies to coordinate: the venue, the florist, the DJ or band, the catering company, the officiant, etc.

And so many decisions to make! What time should the ceremony start? Where will you be getting ready? What color theme do you want? Who will be in your wedding party — or will you have a wedding party at all?

With all that going on, we want to make the photography process as simple, fun, and effortless as possible.

When it comes to your photography, you probably want hundreds of gorgeous memories from your day. Everything from goofy, candid moments to gorgeous, natural portraits; pictures of every single guest and some detail shots to help you remember the love and care that went into the celebration.

And you’d probably love dealing with well-organized, easy-to-communicate-with, friendly professionals.

Yay, that’s us!

Our popular wedding packages are $3,600-8,050.

The best part is, you don’t need to make any additional decisions. Once your date is reserved on Kyo’s calendar, you can add any other products or services later.

What if I Want More?

You might just need a few extra hours of photography.

Or you might have hundreds of guests and elaborate wedding day plans. Maybe you need three or four extra hours of photography and a second photographer.

Or, like many of our clients, you might want an engagement session. Engagement sessions are a great way to “limber up” to being followed around everywhere by a photographer. (If you’re not a professional model, you’re probably not used to it!)

And finally, you might fall in love with our wedding albums and want a custom fine-art book that’ll still make you smile when you’re growing old together.

You can easily add products and services to the base package at any time. We’ll have a conversation with you to find out as much as we can about your wedding day plans, your personalities, and what you’re looking for in a wedding photographer. We can suggest how to customize your package to exactly what you need.

Or, if you decide at the last minute you want an extra hour of photography, or actually, you really DO want an album after all, we’ve got you covered. Once you book Kyo, the day belongs to you, and you can extend the coverage as much as you want. And you can order an album anytime — once you get your pictures and see the story of your day right in front of you, you might be jumping up and down to get an album!

So What’s It Like Working With You?

The very first thing we want to do is get to know each other. We’ll meet with you in person or over video chat, and talk about everything you have planned for your wedding, as well as your vision for the photography. We’ll discuss what’s most important to you, and what’s not. We’ll probably ask you how you met, what you love to do together, and what you love most about each other!

Once you’ve decided to work with us, we’ll schedule the wedding and engagement session dates. We’ll follow up by sending you the contract, and you’ll pay the deposit then. All the paperwork can be handled online, so it’s easy and straightforward.

We’ll also send you an online questionnaire where you can tell us all about the two of you, your wedding day schedule, who the important people are, and what you’re hoping your photographs will convey. (Getting everything in writing is essential to make sure Kyo is well-prepared!) Don’t worry if you’re busy — we’ll send you gentle reminders to make sure we’re on the same page.

The Engagement Session

For many of our clients, the next step is the engagement session. At first it might feel strange to have a photographer following you around everywhere you go, but we promise you that you’ll get used to it faster than you thought possible.

Kyo’s specialty is helping you feel more relaxed in front of the camera. 99% of our clients feel a little strange being photographed. But in the end, you’ll be amazed by how natural the pictures look.

Ordering a guest book

One of our specialties is a guest book with your favorite photos from the engagement session. Your guests will love writing special messages to you in the book on your wedding day.

And the book serves as a tangible memento of your early days together as a couple. Since engagement photographs are more casual than wedding photos, they have an entirely different, more relaxed feel than the wedding day photographs.

Our guest books are printed on textured fine art paper (similar to watercolor paper) and bound in Japanese silk.

The Wedding Day!

We aim to be one of the best wedding photographers in the NYC area. To us, that means providing you with both photojournalistic candids and gorgeous, exquisitely composed portraits.

On your wedding day, Kyo will arrive early to set up and scout the best locations based on the weather and lighting on that particular day. (That’s one of the exciting parts of being a wedding photographer: you can never predict the weather and light!) Then, he and his assistant will go to work unobtrusively in the background. Believe it or not, most of our clients tell us that they forget he’s there!

During the portrait session, he’ll help you relax. On the one hand, he’ll give you some friendly directions so you know what to do, and on the other hand, he’ll probably crack some jokes. (That might be the secret to all those big smiles and natural expressions in Kyo’s posed portraits!) But for the most part, he’ll let you be you. Kyo’s philosophy is to do as much as he can to help your real personality shine through in the photographs.

Oftentimes, our favorite photographs happen during the reception. That’s when everyone starts letting loose and partying, and those moments of love, joy, and abandon are just priceless. If the ring-bearer starts break-dancing or Grandma Brown does a jig, Kyo’s going to capture it. If all your college friends have a spontaneous group hug in front of the band, Kyo’s going to capture it. If the two of you whisper sweet things in each other’s ear as the night winds down… Kyo’s going to capture it.

Getting Your Pictures!

You are going to get your complete, edited, color-corrected photographs 6 weeks after the wedding. Get a bottle of wine, settle in together on the couch, and get ready to laugh and cry as you go through the pictures!

What’s happening in between your wedding and that delivery date? That’s when the post-production magic happens. We get rid of the “outtakes” (where someone blinks, makes a funny face, or something else doesn’t work). Then we go through all the keepers and make each individual photograph shine.

Once the post-production is done, we’ll email you the link to a downloadable, password-protected online gallery. You’ll typically receive your image files within 3 weeks for engagement sessions, and within 6 weeks for weddings. You have unlimited printing and online rights for personal use, so you can use the pictures for Save-the-Dates, thank you cards, prints on your walls, wedding albums or photo books, or anything else you might want.

Ordering an Album or Guestbook

We love creating books and albums, because a book is one of the most beautiful, timeless ways to preserve the memory of your wedding day. You can order the album upfront, as part of the wedding package, or you can order it on the day you receive the online gallery of images. Or you could even order an album as an anniversary present to yourselves.

Our wedding albums are gorgeous, fine art, flush-mount albums bound in leather, silk shantung, or linen. C-prints are mounted on archival matboard with an ultra-thin seam in the middle.

The ordering process is easy. Just choose your favorite pictures in the online gallery, share with us, and we’ll create a custom design for you. You’ll be able to preview it online before we produce it.

Although we love talking about the quality and features of our albums, only book nerds like us care about that. 😉 The most important thing to know is — your wedding album will be a treasure to you. If there’s a fire in your house, it’s one of the things you’ll want to save.
