Milk & Roses is a Brooklyn restaurant tucked away on a quiet street, with a courtyard that feels like a hidden garden. Inside, the space shifts from room to room—moody, textured, and intimate. In the evening, string lights sparkle in the courtyard.

For this wedding, the couple got ready at The Box House Hotel just around the corner. Their first look took place on a quiet side street nearby. Having photographed their engagement session in Prospect Park and Park Slope, I already knew how they connected. They share a love for travel, especially Japan, and I had so much fun talking with them.

One of the most personal details from the day was a vintage typewriter restored by the groom. Guests used it to type messages throughout the evening.

Dinner at Milk and Roses felt relaxed and romantic. Long tables, candlelight, shared plates, and seasonal dishes built around spring ingredients.

As the night came in, the string lights defined the space. I worked with the existing light and added subtle lighting to maintain the mood while giving the images depth. This balance—preserving atmosphere while shaping light—is central to how I approach weddings.

Milk & Roses offers a unique mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing a wedding to unfold naturally from garden to cozy interior. It’s a venue where the environment does a lot of the work, and moments happen without needing to force them.
