Princeton Outdoor Wedding: Eliza and Ben

Ben and Eliza met while rock climbing in Washington DC, and quickly bonded over their love of the outdoors — and craft beer. They were able to incorporate both things into their wedding, with a leisurely outdoor portrait session on Princeton campus and an outdoor ceremony on the Nassau Inn‘s back patio, and plenty of craft beer during the reception.

They carefully planned their wedding ceremony and found a close friend to serve as officiant. Although the ceremony was secular, they embedded Jewish rituals into it, and Ben, who is originally from Chile, recited his vows in Spanish.

Eliza and Ben organized all the details of the wedding themselves. When we asked them what they enjoyed most about the wedding planning, Eliza answered, “Making (and revising) Google spreadsheets!”

LOL! Definitely the type of person you’d want on your team, right?

But Eliza’s real genius wasn’t in the spreadsheets — it was in the way she incorporated nature into a traditional wedding. She used a fabulous company called TheSill to provide adorable succulents and potted plants to decorate the tables. It was not only a charming and unusual way to create centerpieces; it was also an eco-friendly way to provide wedding favors for guests to bring home and enjoy for years to come!

Eliza also worked with an online wedding flower vendor called Bloominous for all the bouquets, boutonnieres, and cake flowers. Bloominous offers pre-designed wedding collections along with detailed step-by-step instructions on how to assemble the flowers. The end result looked like a professional florist had done everything!

Congratulations, Eliza and Ben!
