A Chart House Wedding: Erin and Omar
Erin and Omar are med students and self-described homebodies who love to read, play games, watch anime together, and play with their cats. But that description doesn’t fully capture their warm personalities. I think the photographs do a better job than words — it’s in the photos that you can see their relationship with their friends and families, and the tremendous affection and laughter they share with their them.
The day they got married was a beautiful clear day in May. They chose to meet at Weehawken Waterfront Park NJ, just a stone’s throw from Chart House, their wedding ceremony and reception venue, for “first look” photographs.
The views of Manhattan that day were superb, and Erin and Omar got the full advantage of them. Kyo took daytime portraits of them with Manhattan beyond in soft pastels. During the ceremony, the cityscape was dramatically spread out behind them. As the reception began, Kyo snapped some shots of the skyline, when the setting sun’s rays were tinging the skyscrapers a brilliant gold. And towards the end of the night, he took Erin and Omar outside after it was completely dark for a few quick portraits with the city lights shining in the background.
Erin’s heritage is Jewish and Chinese, and Omar is Muslem, so it was truly a multi-cultural wedding. The officiant was a friend of theirs, and brought a sparkling sense of humor to the ceremony. Even despite the laughter, Erin was very emotional, and couldn’t keep tears from welling in her eyes. Every time Erin couldn’t help crying, Omar gazed at her with such a look of tenderness and love.
Congratulations, Erin and Omar!
