A Central Park October Wedding: Rebecca and Audy

Rebecca and Audy are from Texas, but they love NYC and wanted a classic destination wedding there. After months and months of planning, they finally had their perfect Central Park October wedding on a bright and sunny Thursday. Kyo started with Rebecca as she finished getting ready at the Renaissance New York Hotel 57, and took the car with her and the bridesmaids to the Central Park Conservatory. We love the shot of Rebecca as she stuck her head out the car window and watched NYC pass by!

The highlight of the day was Rebecca and Audy’s wedding dance, which they performed in the park while one of their friends accompanied them with live guitar music. Rebecca and Audy are choreographers, so this was not a modest or awkward first dance — it was a show-stopping drama enacted in movement, complete with comedy, action, and romance. It matched their personalities to a “T”; both Rebecca and Audy are easy-going and full of laughter, but obviously have the ability to mesmerize an audience at the same time.

After the dance, Kyo took Rebecca and Audy on a tour of some of Central Park’s most iconic places, for portraits at the Conservatory Garden, the Mall, the Bethesda Terrace and Bethesda Fountain, and on 5th Avenue. He snapped a lovely portrait of Rebecca’s parents as they patiently watched all the picture-taking.

The event was orchestrated by Tracey Goldstein of Polka Dot Events, a NYC-based wedding planner who frequently works with out-of-state couples to help them organize destination weddings in New York City.

Congratulations, Rebecca and Audy!

Note: The Conservatory Garden is a very beautiful location and one of my clients’ favorite spots. However, I would like to mention that if you are planning any commercial photo shoot there, whether it’s a small portrait session or any other type of shoot, you will need a permit. Park rangers may stop you and ask for proof of permission.
