Woodloch Resort Pocono PA outdoor wedding

This Woodloch Pines wedding perfectly captures the spirit of the bride and groom.

Morganne and Brian first met in college, when they were both playing varsity sports. Morganne was a field hockey player, and Brian played baseball. But they just had a friendly platonic relationship and didn’t keep closely in touch when they graduated. Some years later, Morganne was visiting a friend in Florida while Brian was playing on baseball there. Brian found out she was nearby, finagled her phone number from another friend, and asked her to catch up over beer at an Irish pub.

“Technically,” Morganne told us, “Brian never really asked me out…. We went straight to engaged 4 years later.”

They live in a deep plum-purple (!!!), mid-nineteenth century farmhouse in Colts Neck, a rural township in south-central New Jersey dotted with equestrian farms and — interesting trivia fact — home to Laird & Co, the oldest distiller in the United States and the only remaining producer of Applejack. They briefly considered getting married on their own property, which has a huge, impressive garden.

But on a visit to Woodloch Pines, the family-run resort in the Poconos where Morganne vacationed with her family throughout her childhood, they realized it would be the just the right spot for their wedding.

Both Morganne and Brian love being active and outdoors, and having their wedding at an all-inclusive resort like Woodloch Pines meant that their wedding guests could enjoy a weekend of games, sports, and total rest and relaxation at the same time that they celebrated the lake front wedding. Plus, having an all-inclusive wedding package meant they wouldn’t have to stress about all the little details of wedding planning. For the two of them, that sounded like heaven.

And indeed, their weekend of celebration was as fun-filled and beautiful as they imagined it. Morganne had a clear vision of what she wanted her wedding to look and feel like, and she found the right people to help her make it happen. The staff at Woodloch Pines worked hard behind the scenes to ensure that everything went smoothly. Morganne’s florist, the incredibly talented Fox Hill Farm Experience in nearby Honesdale, PA, created gorgeous bouquets, an outdoor wedding arch, and an enormous flower garland atop the chandelier in the reception room.

Congratulations, Morganne and Brian — we wish you many, many more years of laughter, play, and creativity together!
