Winter beginnings at Whistling Wolf Farm

Last week we visited our friend Helen, who owns Whistling Wolf Farm, one of the farms who sell at the Metuchen Farmers Market. We are just beginning an exciting project with her: this year, we’re going to document the whole process of planting, tending, and harvesting vegetables at her farm. In the end, we’re going to put together a children’s book about “Farmer Helen.” We can’t wait to get started.

So last week, we were just meeting to go over her schedule for the year and talk about all the important phases we need to capture on film. Even though it was just a preliminary discussion, we decided to head over to her fields to see the farm in the snow. Helen was especially psyched to show us her cherry red, brand-new (used) tractor, which she had just received the day before.
