Why We Love the Manor House
We’ve been looking forward to sharing this venue on the blog for a while now. It’s like we’ve discovered one of the best kept wedding venue secrets in New Jersey, and it’s finally time to spill the beans! One of our new favorite things are Manor House Weddings at Princeton Academy, and today we’re filling you in on all of the reasons why.
These photos are from a bridal show at the Manor House. Several incredibly talented local vendors came together to showcase the space and hopefully get your creative juices flowing. Hopefully they’ll give you a taste of how it might look for your celebration!
A Unique & Undiscovered New Jersey Wedding Venue
The Manor House at Princeton Academy is an off-the-beaten-track New Jersey wedding venue, and a total hidden gem.
We discovered the Manor House at Princeton Academy when we were invited to attend a wedding show there. Truth be told, we don’t often do wedding shows at all, but the Manor House changed our minds! As soon as we saw it, we agreed we had to go.
The stately Manor House has so much potential for beautiful weddings! It’s so exciting to discover a unique venue that, until now, has been almost completely overlooked.
If you’re looking for charming and unconventional spot to get married in New Jersey, this is definitely a place you should visit.
The Story Behind the Manor House
The Manor House was originally the private residence of a wealthy Princeton family. Set back from Great Road with a long, winding driveway, it offers a totally secluded space for events and celebrations. Even though it’s very close to downtown Princeton, when you’re there, you feel like you’re in a world unto yourself.
Built in the 1930s, it’s boasts 11 bedrooms, ornate wood and stone moldings throughout the house, and stained glass depicting Arthurian legends.
And if you think the house’s interior is incredible, just wait until you see the garden!
Landscaped grounds include a walled garden and stone gazebo that make you feel like you’re walking the set of Downton Abbey or lost in the pages of Jane Austen novel.
Gorgeous & Stately Spaces
When Kyo and I first saw the building, our mouths dropped open. It is an incredibly atmospheric, gorgeous estate that feels like the set for a period film. The venue is sophisticated but warm, and so charming.
It would be the perfect backdrop for an elegant evening, but it also creates the most beautiful atmosphere for a whimsical or a romantic wedding.
If you ask us, choosing this venue is a no-brainer, but we’ll let you decide how to decorate it. There are so many potentially breathtaking possibilities that it makes our heads spin!
Here is a wedding blog we recently photographed there.
