Jasna Polana Princeton winter wedding

Jasna Polana is one of our favorite venue to visit in any season even winter!

We got luck that this bride Natalie sent me her feedback about her wedding and tips. I’ve photographed so many weddings all over the world(many times at Jasna Polana and St. Paul Parish in Princeton as well), this would even help me to know from a bride point of view. I hope this helps!

“Kyo, hello!! Thank you so much for asking me to do this! It was so fun to re-live and think about the special day!

Tips for Brides:
RELAX, take it all in an enjoy the moments! They go quick!!
We spend so much time anticipating the special date circled on our calendar. I left my phone in the room and turned off, so I could be present with all of the family and friends who came to be a part of my special day!

REGISTRY ADVICE:
Brides, sometimes we get so excited to plan and get everything done super early…sometimes it can be too early! My husband and I had a longer engagement and set up our registry very about a year and a half prior. Looking back, it may have been a bit too early. We were constantly battling items being, “out of stock” and having to start from scratch. My best advice is to set up the registry 9 months ahead of the wedding!

FLOWER PLACEMENT:
This sounds silly but how you hold your flowers in pictures is so important! The fabulous boutique where I got my dress, “I do … I Do …” they gave me fabulous advice to always hold my flowers down low by my hips. We always want to put them up by our chest hut it covers your gorgeous wedding gown! Don’t forget to hold the flowers low! Show off that beautiful wedding gown!

FOOD:
Make sure you eat enough! It is a long and busy day! Make sure you have breakfast and lunch before/in between hair/makeup and pictures! I get “hangry” and low energy if I don’t eat enough! Make sure you are fueling your body for the long day! You will still look and fit perfectly into your gown!

WINTER BRIDES:
Winter can be the most beautiful time of year, crisp-cold air and snow covering the ground! But it can also be stressful for winter brides! I remember the week of my wedding, I would look at the forecast stressing! No need, can’t control Mother Nature! It actually drizzled lightly the morning or our wedding then cleared up just in time for the church ceremony! Control what you can control and that is just enjoying the moment. Don’t worry about outside factors!

All in all, I am beyond grateful to so many people who made this day so special. Kyo did a beautiful job capturing all of the special moments and more!

Natalie”

Thank you very much Natalie! It was my pleasure documenting your wedding. Congratulations on your baby!
