A Stotesbury Mansion Wedding at Rittenhouse Square
Kim and Kevin got married at the stately Stotesbury Mansion, a 19th century townhouse on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia that has a Georgian ballroom imported (piece by piece!) from an English manor. Kim worked for many years in the catering industry, so she knew what she wanted for her wedding: a stylish space and delicious food. The Stotesbury Mansion fit the bill for the space, and Philadelphia’s Feastivities provided superb food and service. The hors d’oeuvres included savory beet salad in homemade cracker spoons, marinated lamb shanks, figs wrapped in bacon, and crispy spring rolls…. mmm.
Since Kim and Kevin are foodies, of course their wedding favor was food-related. They made their own garlic and rosemary-infused olive oil and decanted it into beautiful, old-fashioned rubber-stopped glass bottles. Here’s the process, as they explained it to us:
– Order olive oil in bulk canisters and individual bottles from Amazon
– Peel lots and lots of garlic cloves
– Stuff a couple of garlic cloves and sprigs of rosemary into each individual bottle
– Use a funnel to fill each individual bottle with olive oil
– Clean up big oily mess in your kitchen
(They said that even though it did make a mess, it was lots of fun and they are glad they did it. We can vouch that their homemade olive oil was delicious!)
