Our 5 Favorite Brooklyn Wedding Venues
Although Kyo photographs all over the NYC metropolitan area, from Connecticut all the way to Philadelphia, some of our very favorite weddings have been in Brooklyn. Today we thought we’d share our top 5 favorite Brooklyn wedding venues for anyone who’s planning a wedding (or is just curious!).
#1 The Liberty Warehouse
The Liberty Warehouse is a beautifully renovated vintage industrial space. There’s so much to love here, but our favorite thing about it: the venue boasts incredible views of the Statue of Liberty. Plus, the staff there are super professional and nice! We recommend this venue all the time, but the NYC views make it extra special for couples with a lot of out-of-town guests.
Meghan and Jose Luis brought together guests from all across the United States and Mexico for their wedding at the Liberty Warehouse. Everyone had a blast taking selfies on the waterfront with the Statue of Liberty in the background! You can see how much everyone loved the band from the hilarious energy in the dance photos (Band: Hank Lane).
#2 The Green Building
The Green Building has wide open, raw, industrial-style space indoors, contrasted with a sweet, cozy, walled patio space outdoors (where you can have your ceremony). It opened in 2010 and has already become one of the city’s most trendy and popular event venues!
Simone and Adam got married at the Green Building after an exhaustive search of Brooklyn venues. Although the venue was a bit of a splurge, the couple made up for it by doing the decor themselves. And in fact, Simone told us that one of her favorite parts of the wedding was decorating the space with her family and best friends before the wedding started. (Love this idea? We wrote a full blog post on Simone & Adam’s wedding. Check it out here!)
Before moving on to #3 on the list, we can’t think back on this wedding without giving a shout out the incredible caterer Simone and Adam had! Aaron Unger of The Night Kitchen Catering is one of the most talented and inventive caterers we’ve ever worked with.
#3 Brooklyn Grange
Brooklyn Grange is a working farm on the rooftop of the Brooklyn Navy Yard (yes, you read that right!). It’s as farm-to-table as they come, and there’s even a distillery downstairs. Since it’s a rooftop, there are stunning panoramic views of the city. We love this venue particularly for couples who appreciate local food and drinks! It’s somehow a totally unique and very New York experience, all at once.
Sarah and Nate are both artists, and they got married at the Brooklyn Grange because they love food, liquor, farms, nature, and Brooklyn (what could be more perfect?). The Brooklyn Grange is the perfect intersection of that Venn diagram! Sarah and Nate’s wedding really stands out for us, of course because of the venue, but also because they worked with our #1 favorite DJ company in NYC: 74 Events.
#4 Frankies 457
Frankies 457 is your quintessential, classic Brooklyn Italian restaurant, and it’s the perfect backdrop for a NYC wedding. Italian-style long tables facilitate conversation and give Frankies a cozy family vibe, while the outdoor terrace’s flowering vines and twinkle lights create an elegant and romantic composure.
Annalize and Oliver celebrated their wedding at Frankies 457 after having their ceremony on Governors Island (we wrote a whole blog post about it which you can read here!). They have a great sense of style and orchestrated a fabulous dinner. A special hats off to their flower designer and event planner, Meghan Riley of Opalia Flowers and Adrienne O’Connor of Ruffles and Tweed.
#5 The Brooklyn Botanical Garden
The Brooklyn Botanical Garden is one of the borough’s most famous wedding venues, and for good reason! It’s a revered Brooklyn institution. With more than 15 gardens, 5 conservatories, and stunning flowering collections, it has incredible potential for outdoor photographs.
Wyna and Larry got married at the BBG in early May. Their color theme was inspired by the Cherry Blossom Festival. Gorgeous pink bouquets, a cherry blossom cake, even pink bridesmaids’ dresses! No detail was missed. We loved that Wyna wore a traditional Chinese wedding qipao in pale pink for the reception. See more from Wyna & Larry’s BBC wedding here. Here are more NYC weddings!
