Portraits of Nene, Roosevelt Park

Recently, a Japanese family hired Kyo to take some pictures of Nene, their 3-year-old daughter. In Japan, there is a tradition to dress young girls in their best kimonos and take them to the local temple or shrine at age 3, 5, and 7. Since this family lives in New Jersey, there weren’t any Japanese temples nearby, so we took Nene to the playground at Roosevelt Park. The location wasn’t traditional, but Nene looked perfect in her rose-red kimono with a big pink orchid in her hair.
