Photo Plus Expo

Visitors swarm the Photo Plus Expo

A couple weeks ago, Kyo and I attended the PhotoPlusExpo, one of the photo industry’s largest conventions, at the Javits Center in New York. We were especially interested in finding some new and exciting items to be able to offer our clients – and we found some!

Here I am examining the albums at one of the booths. It was really fun to be able to browse so many different products and styles all in one place. We found a few exceptional companies that we’re excited to begin working with. For instance, next year we’ll begin offering our clients silk archival presentation boxes, hand-crafted by Cypress Albums, a company owned by an artist and based in Los Angeles. The boxes are a gorgeous way to present matted prints.

We’re also starting to create custom photo picture books. I went to a seminar sponsored by ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) about printed photo books that provided especially helpful information; if you’re interested, more information is available here. Being able to compare different companies’ binding techniques, paper types, print quality, and formats side-by-side was invaluable.

We’ll post here about additional new products we’re rolling out in 2010 as the weeks go by….
