Perona Farms Wedding: Lauren and Matt
Lauren and Matt are one of the sweetest couples, and obviously so in love. You can see it in the way they held hands and leaned together when Kyo photographed their engagement session way back in October. And you can see it again in the way they kissed and smiled and gazed at each other all throughout their late summer wedding at Perona Farms.
Perhaps it’s not surprising that they fell in love. They have tons of things in common. They love to travel, see Broadway shows, try new restaurants and eat out at old favorites (like Princeton’s The Bent Spoon), play board games and videogames, watch their favorite movies and TV shows together, and snuggle with their two kittens. When we asked Lauren what she loves about Matt, she said,
“I love that he’s willing to try things with me and keeps a pretty open mind, especially when I get super-into a new project (like arts and crafts, scrapbooking, and my book club). He’s so supportive.
Pride and Prejudice at Perona Farms
Speaking of arts and crafts, Lauren really threw herself into the vision for her wedding. She developed a whimsical Pride and Prejudice-inspired, English countryside theme. She and her mother painstakingly crafted the cut-paper hydrangea and sunflower centerpieces themselves. They created place cards designed in the style of vintage skeleton keys. Lauren’s bouquet — filled with snapdragons, tea roses, sunflowers, sweet pea, strawflowers, and craspedia — looked like it had been plucked straight from a cottage garden. And they played music from the Pride and Prejudice movie during the celebration.
The icing on the cake (literally!) was the cupcake assortment that they offered their guests in lieu of a big wedding cake. The cupcakes came in fresh blueberry, lemon, and chocolate flavors. They were a huge hit with guests.
Finally, Lauren and Matt also included an adorable s’more wrapped in cellophane at each place on the dinner tables. As it got dark, Perona Farms lit the grills out in the courtyard, and the guests trickled out to roast their s’mores under the night sky. Just look at the smile on Lauren’s grandfather’s face as he bit into his s’more.
