Morris Museum Wedding: Alina and Dan’s Elegant and Goofy Celebration

We love a quirky wedding venue that’s off the beaten path, so we’re so excited to share Dan & Alina’s Morris Museum Wedding in New Jersey! Their unique style and sense of humor came through in all of their pictures. Take a peek at some of our favorites here, and let us know what you think!

The Couple

Alina and Dan are both introverts. They met through a friend while hanging out at home one day, and became fast friends. They remained close for years until their relationship transformed and they fell in love. When we asked Alina, “What do you love most about each other?” she replied: “Too many things to list.”

We had a great time working with Alina and Dan. They’re fun to be around, and they bring an easy, relaxed smile to our faces every time we chat. And, something about them tells us they know exactly who they are together.

Case in point: when we asked them what they love to do, they told us; “Obsess over our cat, watch and debate various issues surrounding the many Star Trek series, quote The Simpsons (ad nauseam), go for walks in the woods on pretty days, and visit museums.”

The Morris Museum Wedding

Since one of Alina and Dan’s favorite activities is going to museums together, it was so appropriate that they got married at a museum.

The Morris Museum is a somewhat lesser-known wedding venue in New Jersey, but it’s so cool! The main building is a 1913 mansion, and the annex is a contemporary addition in a modernist style. Fun fact: the museum collection actually started as a “curio cabinet” in the early 20th century, and evolved into the eclectic museum you see today.

We would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a slightly quirky or whimsical venue, or just a place to get married that is off the beaten track. It’s beautiful, fun, historic, and such a crowd pleaser (everyone loves the dinosaurs!).

The Little Details

Alina & Dan did a great job planning a wedding that captured who they are as a couple. You can definitely see their quirky style and sense of humor in their wedding photos.

The wedding day details had a quirky flair and were so much fun! Galaxy-style decor brought whimsy to the space, and the stars and moons used throughout tied everything together perfectly. The couple also had the sweetest little flower girl whose dress even matched the galaxy theme.

And we would be remiss not to say how much we loved Alina’s hair and dress! They suited her so perfectly, and she looked utterly gorgeous.

The Celebration

If you thought Dan and Alina nailed the ceremony, wait until you see the pictures from their reception! It’s pretty clear that the party did not disappoint. The looks on everyone’s faces say it all, and had us smiling ear-to-ear while we snapped pictures.
