Lotos Club Wedding Photos: An Elegant Winter Affair Full of Surprises

Every little detail at this exquisite winter wedding in NYC was planned by the bride, Rachel. She works in the fashion industry and loves design, so she had a fabulous time pulling the details together.

Rachel and Babak got married at the Lotos Club on East 66th Street, a hidden gem in Manhattan. These Lotos Club wedding photos give a sense of why it’s a venue that gets outstanding feedback from its guests. As one Google reviewer put it well, although it’s architecturally ornate and boasts an impressive history, it’s “probably the least pretentious of the NY private clubs.”

Rachel and Babak were very excited to surprise their guests with the music at their reception. They chose to work with Early Bird Jazz Band, a 5-piece ensemble specializing in classic jazz including Dixieland, bebop, and swing tunes.

And there were two more surprised as their reception wound down: a whiskey bar in the Lotos Club’s handsome library, and a 1960s Rolls Royce parked outside for their getaway. It was wet and raining on the night of their wedding, and that might have prevented some brides and grooms from standing outside for portraits. But Rachel and Babak were totally game, so Kyo photographed them enjoying the last moments of the night with the shiny curves of the Rolls and the twinkling lights of 5th Avenue in the background.

We have to mention that Rachel is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. So it’s no surprise that she told us, “My favorite part of planning the wedding has been collaborating with all of our vendors. Everyone we are working with is so talented at what they do.”
