Kyo’s cross country road trip, starting in Venice, CA

In December I got a chance to do my 2nd cross-country road trip!  The first time I drove cross-country with a friend, we went to Chicago and took the old historic Route 66 all the way to Santa Monica, California. At that time I hadn’t been in the United States for so long, and I was amazed how many different cultures there are in this big country.

This time, I only had 10 days, max, to get from California to New Jersey.  The only plan I and my friend Scott had was to see the Grand Canyon and Santa Fe.  Other than that, I simply wanted to take as much of Route 66 and local roads as possible, and just play it by ear. It turned out to be an amazing trip. I’ll post more updates about the trip as I get my pictures organized — I took hundreds and hundreds of them!

Here are some pictures from Venice CA, our starting point.
