Jasna Polana Wedding Photos: A classically elegant outdoor ceremony

Emily and DJ are one of the sweetest couples we know. Their gentle, warm personalities brighten up every room they walk into. They have such a similar vibe to each other that it’s easy to believe what Emily said about the two of them: “We are usually thinking the same thing without saying it out loud and in one look we can immediately know what the other is thinking.”

You can’t hear the story of how they got engaged without smiling. As Emily described it:

We were about to embark on a week-long cruise with his family — the ship left from San Juan, Puerto Rico that Sunday. We decided that morning that we would walk around San Juan and DJ suggested walking around Fort San Cristobal, which had an amazing view of the water. We took some touristy pictures and found a nice open spot overlooking the water to take another picture. As we were looking over the water his sister and her friend spotted us and asked us if we wanted our picture taken. As we stood there smiling with each other DJ took my hand in his and placed it over his heart. I could feel it beating quickly, so quickly that in concern I asked him if he was okay. He just smiled back at me and bent down on one knee, he said “Emily, will you marry me?” I was so happy and excited that I immediately started crying and almost forgot to say yes! It was such an amazing surprise and the rest of the week was spent celebrating in tropical islands!

As for their wedding… well, it was a jubilant celebration from beginning to end. The ceremony on the lawn at the stone and wrought-iron gazebo was just spectacular, and afterwards the families and wedding party joked and laughed together through the whole portrait session.

DJ Constantine Ptohos from 74 Events had no trouble at all keeping a raucous crowd happy on the dance floor. At the end, all those tired-but-happy party-goers flanked the front entrance of the clubhouse and gave their most heartfelt farewell to the couple.
