Wholesale Wedding Flowers Online: A Flower Muse review

We recently sat down to talk with Krystle DeSantos, the event designer who created the decor for Michelle and Rex’s magical wedding in April.

Krystle is based in NYC, so we thought she sourced her flowers from NYC’s sprawling flower district — but no, she told us that she ordered them from the online flower wholesaler Flower Muse. We were curious to learn more, so we interviewed her about her experience with them.

How did you find out about Flower Muse? Did you consider using any other flower wholesalers? What made you decide to buy from Flower Muse?

This was my first time decorating a wedding and I wanted to streamline the process to accommodate my busy schedule. I work full time in digital advertising and needed to find a vendor I could build a dependable relationship with. Working in the Tech Industry, I instinctively turned to the internet and began researching. I found a few sites with good reviews but the look of the sites did not align with my aesthetic and they were difficult to navigate. I can’t remember exactly how I got to Flower Muse’s site but as soon as I landed on their homepage I had a gut feeling that I was on to something fantastic.

The site was easy to navigate, the photos were big and bright and there were several information resources and a blog full of tips. Flower Muse was featured by brands I trust and that made it more appealing. After  browsing the site, I scheduled a call with a representative to get a better feel of their customer service.   Flower Muse over-delivered in this area and my lovely rep, Anna, helped me figure out everything. She was very knowledgeable, made several suggestions that aligned with the look I designed and educated me on how to take care of the flowers. Flower Muse is a fantastic resource and I look forward to building a continued relationship with them.

How did you decide on the flowers, the colors, and the arrangements for Michelle’s wedding? How did you convey your vision to Flower Muse?

I consulted with Michelle on the look and feel of her wedding and she provided a few photos to represent her vision. Michelle wanted a whimsical-vintage feel with plum  and gold shades. With our budget in mind, I began researching different flower types and found supporting images that conveyed my design-vision and aesthetic. I pinned those images on Pinterest and shared that board with Anna at Flower Muse. During the final stages, I put together a Google Doc presentation of the overall concepts, flower types, number of arrangements and flower related decor I needed and presented that to her as well.

What were the people at Flower Muse like to work with? How would you describe your experience?

I worked solely with Anna at Flower Muse and she was a delight to work with. She listened to me, answered all my questions, then answered questions I did not think to ask. Anna educated me on how to care for the flowers and provided me with several options to match the look I designed. She even steered me away from difficult to use flowers since it was my first time working with fresh flowers for a wedding. Anna walked me through every step of the process, helped me stick to my budget and provided great support. It was a fantastic experience for me!

What kind of information did Anna need in order to help you decide how many of each type of flower to buy? (It seems to me that estimating quantities would be tricky when it’s your first time.)

I gave Anna the total number of tables, number of arrangements I wanted on each table, number of bouquets, boutonnieres, flower girl crowns, corsages and hanging mason jars.

You said that “Michelle wanted a whimsical-vintage feel with plum and gold shades.” What were the specific flowers you ended up buying for the bouquet and decor?

I bought baby’s breath, fuchsia carnations, purple and white tulips, fuchsia peonies, purple wax flowers, violet astrantia, eryngium thistle, mixed greens, lisianthus, scabiosa pods and astilbe.

Would you buy from Flower Muse again? What’s the next floral design you’d love to create?

Yes, yes and yes! I love their website and customer service. It’s exactly the kind of business that would keep me coming back. I also love interior decor and since we’re in the middle of summer, I’d love to create floral dinner centerpieces with tropical vibe. I’m thinking palm leaves and Bougainvillea for now. I’ll let Anna make some suggestions 😉
