First Day of Metuchen Market Day
This past Saturday was the first day of our local farmers market, Metuchen Market Day. Even though last year’s market started on the same day as the FUCE 5k race and this year there was no similar event to boost the market’s visibility, we still had more shoppers than last year — woohoo! It was a glorious, glorious day, and the the vendors had everything you could want from local Jersey farms in early summer: fresh strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, summer squash, cabbage and lettuce, hearth-baked bread, croissants and cinnamon rolls, cured olives, homemade pickles, granola, brie, cheddar, vegan soap and lotions, quiche, free-range eggs…. I could go on and on!
