Comfort food and Coziness at the Yankee Doodle Taproom at the Nassau Inn in Princeton, NJ

The Nassau Inn of Princeton must have one of the coziest hotel restaurants in New Jersey: the Yankee Doodle Taproom. It feels like it’s been around for 200 years — the tables are carved with the initials of countless Princeton undergrads, a Norman Rockwell mural hangs in the bar, and black & white photographs of some of Princeton’s most eminent graduates greet you at the entrance. Not to mention the warm patina of the open beam ceiling or the huge fireplace at the back of the restaurant.

Or the food! Executive Chef Matt Volpe knows how to make you feel at home. Check out some highlights from his hearty fall menu below: chicken potstickers with sesame mustard sauce and soy drizzle; roasted beet salad with aged sherry vinaigrette; maple roasted butternut squash with toasted pumpkin seed garnish; and cranberry apple crisp with vanilla ice cream.
