Basking Ridge Wedding: Brianne and Rudy
Brianne and Rudy celebrated their Basking Ridge wedding at the Olde Mill Inn, a hotel and restaurant that dates back to 1768. From the very first time we met Brianne and Rudy more than two years ago, they were excited to be getting married at Christmastime, with the hotel decorated for the holidays and twinkling lights everywhere for their photographs. Brianne wore white pearls in her hair and carried a bouquet made of antique brooches that she created herself, and the DJ played songs that she and Rudy carefully curated. So the day was full of personal touches that evoked the two of them: fun-loving and down-to-earth with an endearingly playful spirit.
A close friend officiated their wedding, and Brianne and Rudy incorporated a Celtic handfasting into their vows. In a handfasting ceremony, a cloth or cord invoking the groom’s family is wrapped around both the bride and groom’s hands. The officiant wraps the cord around their hands one time for each of six vows, and at the final vow, the cord is tied. This is where we get our phrase “tying the knot.”
Brianne and Rudy love music, and they worked hard to find a DJ who they thought would infuse the right feeling into their reception. They were very excited about having found Elegant Ensembles, who certainly delivered when it came time for dancing! You don’t need to take our word for it; just look at the pictures.
