This was Kyo’s first time as a quinceanera photographer. We were so impressed by the incredible choreography of the dances at Isabel’s celebration. Isabel and her friends could put on a Broadway show — which is appropriate, since the theme of her party was the Phantom of the Opera.

Kyo snapped these shots of fireworks on August 1st, which is Independence Day in Switzerland. Our Independence Day celebrates 1776; their Independence Day celebrates a slightly earlier year — 1291.
Just a reminder that tomorrow evening (Tuesday, 8/14, at 7 pm), I will be presenting a workshop on “How to Create a Gorgeous Photo Book” at the Old Franklin School, 491 Middlesex Avenue in Metuchen. This workshop is part of the Borough Improvement League’s fabulous Summer House for the Arts series.

On a warm summer evening in July, the Clayhole Brothers captivated a packed house at the Old Franklin School. I especially loved the murder ballad (I wish I could remember the name of the song!) and their crowd-friendly rendition of “Freight Train.”
As soon as you meet Jennifer and James, you can’t help but notice their extraordinarily warm, gracious, and welcoming manner. They just light up the room together. And best of all, they have an infectious sense of humor. I haven’t seen a cake-cutting get quite so rowdy in a while.
