Spring NYC Waterfront Cherry Blossom Family LIC scooter portrait
There are many cherry trees in NYC, and Long Island City in Queens is no exception. It was April Fool’s Day, but we weren’t fooled. We got lucky with a break in the rain that lasted the entire weekend and into the next week, enjoying a respite from the wet weather at Gantry Plaza State Park. This park is a long strip of relaxing and fun space along the East River. From here, you can see Manhattan and landmarks like the UN building, Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, World Trade Center, Brooklyn Bridge, and Queensboro Bridge, which Spider-Man has famously hopped onto. It’s very convenient to reach from Brooklyn, and you can easily hop on a ferry from Manhattan. With food trucks and playgrounds, it’s a great place to spend a nice day with kids and family.
