Why We Love Fall Weddings
Fall is such a perfect time to get married. The air is crisp, and the brilliant hues of red and orange fall foliage pop against the sky. It’s easy to see why anyone getting married in this season would want to incorporate its beautiful colours and textures into their day.
We’ve worked with some super creative couples who’ve found tonnes of ways to add a little bit of Fall into their decor. Some go with the quintessential fall-themed items, like flowers, leaves, and orange tones, and some choose incorporate just subtle hints of the season. Here are some of the best ideas we’ve come across, starting with the classics.
Fall Wedding Decor Ideas
Incorporating reds and oranges into the flowers
This one’s a no-brainer, but it’s a classic for good reason! Check out these striking red and orange arrangements.
Fall Berries
There are so many varieties of waxy fall berries in all different colors that look stunning in flower arrangements. Why not try tucking fall berries into the boutonniere or bouquet?
Dried Wheat & Grass
Dried grasses, wheat, and flowers look perfect for the season. Because they’re so versatile and come in many different sizes, you can use them for anything, from fall bouquets and boutonnieres to decorating your arch or reception hall!
Tartan and Thistle
Laura and Joel are from Scotland so the tartan and thistle in their flower arrangements were totally apropos. But we love plaids of any kind, because they really make everything feel a little more cozy and warm (especially using a flannel material!).
Chickadees
Another idea from Laura and Joel’s wedding: chickadees atop the wedding cake along with artfully arranged branches. This could not be more adorable!!
Moss and forest succulents
We love this for so many reasons but mostly because it’s a totally budget-friendly way to create seasonal table decor! Fill a pretty wooden crate with moss, a few succulents, and translucent floating candles, and you’ve got a centrepiece that looks marvellous and is simple enough to be a DIY project.
Fall Wedding Photo Ideas
Another classic Fall wedding idea is to take your photos among the beautiful fall foliage. It provides the most stunning backdrop, and the colors are to die for. Here are a few highlights from some of our fall portrait sessions in Central Park, Battlefield Park in Princeton, the Grounds for Sculpture, Jasna Polana, and the Morris Museum.
