Fall Rainy day Rock Island Lake Club NJ Wedding

That weekend, I photographed three weddings in three different states NYC, Philadelphia PA and NJ.

Each one completely unique. Each one meaningful. And the final celebration brought me to Rock Island Lake Club in Sparta, New Jersey — a venue that feels cinematic even before the weather adds its own mood.

It was a crisp fall day, and a gentle rain settled over the lake just before the ceremony.

Instead of disrupting the atmosphere, the rain elevated it.

After the ceremony, we stepped onto the dock. Raindrops fell just beyond the roofline. He wrapped his arm around her waist. She laughed as the wind caught her veil. Those unposed seconds — that movement, that closeness — became some of the most powerful frames of the entire weekend.

As the evening continued indoors, candlelight reflected against the windows overlooking the dark lake. The fireplace glowed. Guests gathered with warm drinks. The energy felt cozy yet elevated — a balance this venue does effortlessly.
